Anne lectured in Gaelic at the University of Strathclyde during the 1990s, and played a leading part in training Gaelic-medium primary teachers. The subject of her PhD (Anne Fraser, 1989, Glasgow University) was Gaelic-medium Primary Education in Urban Contexts.

During 2000 - 2 she acted as Gaelic Writing tutor for NGAA (the National Gaelic Arts Agency) scheme “Sìol gu Bàrr”, designing two courses: “Writing Drama for Radio” and “Writing Drama for Television”. She was involved in designing the Media Studies degree course for Sabhal Mòr Ostaig (the Gaelic College / University of the Highlands and Islands).

She has created many teaching resources for Gaelic-medium schools – novels, learning packs etc, and is now a Partner in Brìgh – a multi-media publishing company dedicated largely to the production of Gaelic resources.
